From editing to administrative support, Wendy Pond is an expert. She’s a skilled writer, editor, and proofreader and one of Coleman Lew Canny Bowen’s in-house experts on Associated Press style.

Basecamp, Dropbox, Onebox, One Talk, One Note, One Drive are just a few of the software packages and computer programs she knows. Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and QuickBooks are a few others she’s mastered.

And, she’s the firm’s only employee with Hollywood connections.

In her prior roles as an executive assistant, the University of Virginia graduate has needed to keep up with technology … and keep up with executives’ busy schedules. She’s worked for KCET/Community Television of Southern California, Ali Magazine (in L.A.), and Flynn Health Holt Leadership in Charlotte.

In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, she transformed into a freelance virtual assistant, providing remote scheduling, proofreading, report preparation, and other services to clients near and far.

“In a previous lifetime,” Wendy said, “I worked as a film production coordinator and producer’s assistant in Los Angeles.”

She penned her first (and so far, only) screenplay – a Western with a young female lead – that made it into the top 10% of a screenplay competition sponsored by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment. Considering there were 4,000 entries, that’s a big deal. “My screenplay was almost optioned by James Woods’ production company,” she said. “Almost. That’s la vida loca in Hollywood.”
