Vice President – Enterprise Technology and Innovation

A sports and entertainment company located in the Southeast US.

REPORTS/RELATIONSHIPS:
The Vice President – Enterprise Technology and Innovation reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The Vice President – Enterprise Technology and Innovation sets the direction for the technology function across the organization, including its affiliated entities, with the goal of safeguarding reliable core services, ensuring clear prioritization of business needs, and delivering technology capabilities that support operations and customer experiences. This role aligns business priorities with technology investments while establishing governance, delivery discipline, and service accountability across the organization. The Vice President – Enterprise Technology and Innovation also represents the technology function with executive leadership, communicating risks, progress, and opportunities, as necessary.

Specific duties will include, but not necessarily be limited to:

  • Define the enterprise technology strategy and multiyear roadmap aligned to business and venue priorities.
  • Provide strategic leadership in the development and support of an overall technology infrastructure plan for the organization, its affiliated entities, venues, partners, and related facilities.
  • Lead technology transformation efforts, including operating model maturity, AI readiness, and architecture alignment.
  • Understand industry and sector trends, including emerging innovations, tools, and platforms, and articulate application to the organization.
  • Lead and develop the technology team into a service-oriented, customer-focused function while owning performance management, service portfolio delivery, budget oversight, and risk.
  • Establish governance, demand intake, and prioritization processes to create transparency around technology decisions.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of infrastructure, support, security, architecture, product delivery, and business partnership functions.
  • Safeguard the reliability of core services, including infrastructure, network, support, and broadcast technology.
  • Communicate technology risks, investments, and progress to ownership and executive leadership.
  • Drive improvements in vendor management, contract visibility, and service accountability.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven leadership ability; versatile leader who is a good team player willing to utilize the talents of the IT team to accomplish department and organization objectives; inclusiveness.
  • Management experience in information technology; able to lead a team in managing multiple priorities and projects; good organization and project management skills.
  • High level of energy and enthusiasm; ability to function in a fast-paced, hardworking, 24/7  environment; adaptable to change and able to adjust priorities with minimal advance notice and still meet business needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – verbal, written, and active listening – across a range of constituencies; ability to build trust with all constituencies.
  • Ability to attract, develop, and retain professional staff.
  • Smart; good business acumen combined with appropriate technical knowledge including, but not limited to, IT systems development and implementation, networking, and end-user training.
  • Strategic thinking ability; creative, innovative, and willing to take appropriate risks, i.e., possibly “design beyond the assigned.”
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; problem analysis and resolution ability at both the strategic and functional levels.

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field is preferred.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience including a competitive base salary, bonus opportunity, and competitive benefits package.
