Vice President, Finance


COMPANY:
A large pure play producer of complex, difficult-to-manufacture  conductors and flexible connector products. With current revenues of over $600 million, the company’s three business units operate strategically positioned facilities across the United States and Europe. Its product portfolio is ideally positioned to benefit from the transformational shift in electrification driven by accelerating investments in green energy, electric vehicles and energy storage. It is a portfolio company of  a highly regarded middle market private equity firm with over $8.5 billion AUM.  
 
REPORTS/RELATIONSHIPS:
This position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
 
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The Vice President, Finance ensures the soundness of the company’s financial structure by planning, directing and leading the financial accounting activities of the consolidated organization, including accounting and financial reporting (internal and external), audit and internal controls. In addition, the Vice President, Finance oversees FP&A and tax reporting, and will act as an integral member of the acquisition and integration teams. He or she will ensure all control procedures are in place to adequately manage the stewardship of the company’s finances. The Vice President, Finance will manage the business unit controllers and advise the Executive Team on financial performance, key financial issues and the effect of the issues on strategies and objectives. He or she will also work closely with the company’s outside audit and tax professionals and will manage all related reporting and filing responsibilities.
 
Specific duties will include, but not necessarily be limited to:
  • Establish a strong relationship with the CFO, business unit operating and finance/accounting leaders based on demonstrated financial acumen and knowledge of the business, operational performance and strategic objectives.
  • Present management with the financial results by collecting, analyzing and reporting financial data, including special reports, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual internal and external reporting processes, including communication materials provided to the Board of Directors and lending institutions.
  • Coordinate and support the corporate planning function including capital budgeting and strategic planning, which includes the consolidation and reporting of the company’s operating budgets and interim financial forecasts.
  • Develop necessary financial policies, procedures and internal controls and play a leading role in directing change initiatives and process improvement, driving process change to affect efficiencies in overall accounting, finance and business processes.
  • Research and analysis of technical accounting matters and recommendation of actions relating thereto.
  • Maintain effective systems and controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and processes.
  • Oversee tax compliance and collaborate with Company’s external tax and legal experts on tax planning strategies.
  • Drive cash flow and support the company’s treasury and related functions.
  • Represent the accounting function in acquisition analysis and acquisition integration, including related purchase accounting.
  • Manage interactions with external accounting firm.
  • Manage and develop a strong, performance-oriented finance and accounting organization, capable of actively and effectively engaging and growing with the business.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS degree in accounting or finance; CPA; MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in roles of increasing responsibility, including having managed the finance function (accounting, budgeting, control and reporting) within a sizeable industrial manufacturing company.
  • Solid initial public accounting experience, ideally having reached at least a Manager level with a Big 4 public accounting firm. It is also possible that the successful candidate will come directly out of a Big 4 firm, if he/she is now at a Senior Manager level (with a client base consisting primarily of manufacturing and/or distribution companies).
  • He or she must be comfortable operating in a global manufacturing company.
