Senior Director – Human Resources

COMPANY:
Privately held international operator of consumer services/retail locations.

REPORTS/RELATIONSHIPS:
The Senior Director – HR reports to the company’s CEO and is responsible for a team of four.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The Senior Director – HR is responsible for the full scope of HR functions, including talent acquisition and development, employee relations, organizational design, compensation and benefits, leadership pipeline, human capital reporting, and regulatory compliance. 

Specific duties will include, but not necessarily be limited to:

  • Ensure that recruitment for center staff is optimized – right people, right number, right cost, right time.
  • Effectively collaborate with and represent the HR function at the company’s most senior level – bring savvy insights, good decision-making, and, most importantly, demonstrated expert practice to support the attainment of enterprise goals, including financial and growth targets.
  • Partner with operations across all current and future locations to improve staff retention at center level.
  • Build a comprehensive and best-in-class talent acquisition strategy with a recruiting pipeline into local colleges.
  • Strengthen human capital processes for leadership development, succession planning, compensation, and compliance and risk assessment across state and country jurisdictions.
  • Develop and maintain company-wide HR policies to support a growing company in an evolving industry and regulatory environment.
  • Provide support to leadership and team members with benefits administration, leave of absence administration, reinstatement, and interaction with ADA requirements.
  • Support enterprise growth through acquisitions by leading the process of human capital due diligence.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 15 years’ HR leadership experience within a fast-paced, growth-oriented B2C multi-unit business with a particular focus on service delivery excellence through many staff.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in entrepreneurial growth-focused organizations, balanced with large corporate experience with a market leader – understands how to support a client operating nationwide.
  • Strong academic background – likely holds a business degree from a well-recognized university.
  • Political savviness – knows when to push, when to lead, when to observe.
  • Comfortable straddling being able to lead a supporting function while still being very client-focused; has an affinity and affection for operations; enjoys the ebb and flow of a fast-paced business.
  • Intellectually curious supported by strong analytical skills.

COMPENSATION:
Compensation will be commensurate with experience including a competitive base salary and competitive benefits package.
