President / Chief Operating Officer

Leading private equity-backed provider of essential home services based in the Southeast US.
REPORTS/RELATIONSHIPS:
This position will report directly to the Founder and Chief Executive Officer and will manage the Regional Operations teams and General Managers across all branches and locations. Additional responsibilities include fleet management, purchasing, marketing, and call center operations. The role will be part of the senior executive leadership team along with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and President / Chief of Staff.
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The President / Chief Operating Officer (COO) will serve as the operational leader and work in partnership with the executive team and Board to drive operational performance and deliver on growth goals for the Company. The President / COO is responsible for overseeing branch operations, managing consistent and high-quality service delivery for customers, driving to budgeted growth and profit goals, and fostering a performance-oriented culture across all current and future locations. This individual will implement and drive standard operational processes, systems, and metrics across the organization to ensure that the highest standards of quality and consistent performance are met.
Specific duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Provide hands-on and active operational leadership to branch General Managers and branch teams, driving culture, accountability, and operating results across all locations.
- Develop and execute a framework for effective P&L management with a focus on proactive management by metrics and KPIs.
- Serve as a key member of the senior executive team throughout the partnership with the private equity firm, the Board, and future partners.
- Develop and recruit high-performing teams across existing and future locations.
- Continue to foster and develop a workplace environment that promotes employee engagement, development, and retention.
- Develop and implement profit improvement initiatives and special projects that further the Company’s growth and financial performance.
- Support the Founder and members of the executive team to execute and integrate future branch acquisitions. Post-closing integration will include an assessment of and key decisions around:
- Company locations and functions.
- The highest and best use of internal and acquired talent.
- Efficiency opportunities and synergies.
- The optimal go-to-market strategy (especially as the Company’s go-to-market strategy expands further into B2C/residential).
- As a key member of the executive team, the President / COO will be expected to regularly attend and present key information during quarterly Board meetings and serve as a point of contact for Board members and key stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS:
Prior operations management and leadership experience at a rapidly growing, branch-based, residential services platform that is geographically dispersed is required.
- Experience operating in an acquisitive, private equity-backed company environment is preferred.
- High energy, self-motivated, and committed to delivering results.
- Comfortable working in the field with a technician workforce. Willingness to spend substantial time onsite with branch management is a must. This role is best suited for a hands-on leader who can work well with, relate to, and successfully manage multilocation branch personnel and service technicians.
- History of successfully building effective cultures and growing similar sized businesses.
- Experience establishing systems, processes, and operational KPIs across an enterprise with multiple locations. Experience with Nexstar or a similar best practices organization preferred.
- Knowledge of and comfort with M&A due diligence and post-closing integration.
- Analytical mind; comfortable with numbers and strategy.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with an ability to effectively build relationships with the management team, customers, field technicians, board members, and potential acquisition targets.
- Technologically savvy, including experience with field service software; specifically, experience with Service Titan is highly desired.
- Proven experience working with founder-operated businesses is a plus.
