REPORTS/RELATIONSHIPS:

This position will report directly to the Senior Pastor and collaborate closely with the Executive Pastor. Direct reports include the Director of Finance, Director of Operations, Technical Production Coordinator, Human Resources Director, and Information Technology Coordinator.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

The Executive Director is responsible for on-site management and support of the business affairs and operations of the church. This individual will serve on the board of the First Presbyterian Church Schools (Child Development Center and Weekday School) and will be the school leadership’s point of connectivity and support from the church. The Executive Director will also participate in and collaborate with the Finance Committee, Investment Committee, Property Committee, Executive Team, Schools’ Boards, and Personnel Committee.

Specific duties will include, but not necessarily be limited to:

  • Manage the finance, operations, technology and production, human resources, and information technology teams.
  • Oversee the annual budget preparation and report monthly on the financial status of the church.
  • Work with church auditors, CPAs, and treasurer during the annual audit.
  • Oversee the church’s cash management, risk mitigation, insurance, vendors, and contracts.
  • Supervise the general operation, security, and maintenance of the church and church property (including First Presbyterian Church Schools.)
  • Oversee the execution of payroll, staff development, benefits communications, employee relations, and hiring and termination of church staff.
  • Collaborate with staff ministries and other leadership to refine, develop, recommend, implement, and maintain church policies.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and church leadership to ensure that ministry leaders and their respective ministries are properly supported and efficiently functioning.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for legal matters and review of all contracts.
  • Participate in meetings/events as directed by the Senior Pastor (including some weekend commitments).


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Executive-level experience in business administration and accounting for a mission-based organization.
  • Experience in training, supervision, and management of multi-person, multi-discipline team.
  • Strong finance or accounting skills.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and delegation skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal/people skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances quickly and decisively.
  • Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to build and maintain a cooperative team spirit with staff, volunteers, and congregation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, management, facilities management, or related field.


COMPENSATION:

Compensation will be commensurate with experience including a competitive base salary and competitive benefits package.
