Chief Executive Officer
COMPANY:
Leading private equity-backed provider of infrastructure products with revenues of approximately $500 million.
REPORTS/RELATIONSHIPS:
The Chief Executive Officer reports to the Board of Directors.
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The Chief Executive Officer serves as the strategic and operational leader for the company and works in conjunction with the Board to establish and achieve the overall vision and objectives for the business. This leader has full P&L and balance sheet responsibility, and is charged with accelerating the company’s business success and further expanding its position as a premier supplier. The CEO, in cooperation with the broader team, will be responsible for driving the following initiatives to maximize shareholder value:
- Support the strategic vision to meaningfully grow the company’s top and bottom lines.
- Recruitment, talent development, and organization design, including continuing to build out and upgrade the executive leadership team.
- Oversee the company’s sales and marketing strategy and execution, including enhancing the company’s long-term customer relationships, growing market share, expanding the addressable market, and optimizing the company’s comprehensive product and service offering and pricing.
- Oversee the company’s distribution and manufacturing footprint, including enhancing (and diversifying) the company’s deep supplier relationships, ensuring a rigorous quality control process, and driving operational excellence in customer service (product availability, on-time delivery, etc.).
- Drive margin enhancement initiatives, including optimizing sales mix and effectively managing costs (e.g., product cost, inbound/container freight, distribution, etc.).
- Drive the identification, cultivation, and integration of acquisitions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as CEO or equivalent leadership role, preferably of a fast-paced, private equity-backed business in the industrial manufacturing and distribution industry.
- Experience leading a company with products that sell through distribution.
- Experience managing external manufacturing supplier relationships, including overseas suppliers.
- Private equity experience, particularly execution of a successful value creation playbook through add-on acquisitions, and exit strategy is a plus.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with an ability to present effectively to board members, customers, vendors, and future investors/buyers in various professional and social settings, as well as with frontline workers; an ability to exhibit humility and inspire followership in others.
- An analytical mind that is comfortable with numbers and data-driven decision making.
- Knowledge and comfort with the M&A process and post-closing integration.
- Bachelor’s degree is required; MBA is a plus.
COMPENSATION:
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience. A customized package including base salary, target incentive bonus, and equity will be developed to attract the finalist candidate. The finalist candidate will be expected to invest in the company alongside the current private equity ownership and senior management team and participate in the company’s equity incentive plan, allowing the potential for significant wealth creation.
