Senior Private Client Manager


A leading, privately owned, and independently managed financial services firm dedicated to serving select families and institutions. The company manages client portfolios primarily consisting of individual securities. It also provides integrated “family office” wealth services designed to meet the unique needs of its diverse client base. Headquartered in Charlotte, NC, the company is an SEC registered fiduciary, investment advisor, serving clients in over 20 states.


This position will serve as a member of the wealth services team and interface directly with family, professional, and business-owner clients.


This role requires collaboration, leadership, and strategic thinking to support business development opportunities, drive process improvements, and manage projects from beginning to end. The candidate will demonstrate skillful sensitivity when dealing with client and prospect inquiries and always operate with integrity and confidentiality.

Specific duties will include, but not necessarily be limited to:

  • Build strong relationships and collaboration with the internal team.
  • Develop “white glove” relationships with clients, their families, and their businesses.
  • Serve as a client liaison to the operations team and investment committee.
  • Support and lead client meetings.
  • Source professional wealth service partnerships (legal/tax/trust) to support client needs.
  • Communicate research-based investment strategies.
  • Optimize and execute client communications protocol.
  • Utilize “discovery process” to uncover client needs and goals.
  • Coordinate business, tax, financial, investment, estate, and insurance planning solutions.
  • Author presentations and generate client reports leveraging CRM and other platforms.
  • Develop and expand personal and professional spheres of influence in relevant markets.
  • Utilize existing company and client relationships to develop client referrals and initiatives.
  • Develop and participate in targeted, team-based business development events.
  • Increase brand awareness through professional conferences and speaking engagements.
  • Streamline distribution of collateral (investment letters, presentations, PR).
  • Source small business, endowment and foundation, and retirement plan opportunities.


  • Exemplary performance at a top-tier professional services firm (or similar) with at least five to seven years of experience.
  • Institutional knowledge of financial services is valuable but not required.
  • Track record of community engagement and professional networking.
  • Able to work and succeed in a structured yet entrepreneurial culture.
  • Career-oriented and committed to staying with the firm for five or more years. There is considerable opportunity for advancement for the qualified, team-oriented, and motivated candidate.
  • Possess excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to prioritize workload during peak volume periods.
  • Able to communicate complex information with simple explanations and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and naturally inquisitive while able to work within an intimate team structure.
  • Express an intelligent work ethic and an authentic interest in creating a positive impact on clients, the firm, and the community.
  • Effective writing and presentation skills.
  • Technologically proficient with CRM, MS Suite, etc.
  • Current Series 66 license or willingness and ability to achieve.
  • Willing to travel as needed.
  • Strong record of academic and professional achievement and a bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degrees and other professional designations a plus.
  • Continuing education, including professional certifications, may be required.
