Director, Financial Planning and Analysis

COMPANY:

One of the largest providers of automotive aftermarket upgrades in North America.

REPORTS/RELATIONSHIPS:

The Director, Financial Planning and Analysis will report to the Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis and work closely with the President and the Leadership Team.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

The individual will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and accuracy of the financial information, for distilling business-driving insights from the data, and building out key capabilities within the finance and accounting functions.

Specific duties will include, but not necessarily be limited to:

  • Ensure the reliability and accuracy of the financial information and establish “one source of truth” across the various systems.
  • Partner with the President, the broader business team functions, and the party company to serve as the key advisor to the business; identify business-driving insights that deliver significant value creation for the enterprise.
  • Lead the build-out of key capabilities and reporting functions for the company, including:
    • Establish the key performance indicators.
    • Create reporting capability on those KPIs to be reviewed timely while assisting the business team to identify opportunity for improvement and risks for mitigation with the related and appropriate action plans.
    • Franchise advertising fund management system.
    • Budget management, reporting, and guidance system.
  • Lead analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results and trends including the provision of ad hoc analysis to enhance understanding of those results.
  • Lead, create, and submit financial plans including annual budgets, forecasts, and related analytics to be used by the business team and the corporation.
  • Create and maintain financial models and sensitivity analysis using independent and dependent variables.
  • Control capital expenditure programs to ensure financial controls, including the provision of the business case and financial return metrics.
  • Review and optimize working capital and fixed assets to ensure optimal return on net assets.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Broad experience in both finance and accounting.
  • Has built out and project-managed the installation of vital financial systems.
  • Has worked in a franchisee environment.
  • Experience in leading, and being a part of, cross-functional teams working on significant projects.
  • Demonstrated skill for translating insights into action.
  • Track record of significant, value-creating accomplishments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field required; advanced degree preferred.

COMPENSATION:

Compensation will be commensurate with experience including a competitive base salary, bonus opportunity, and competitive benefits package.
