Director of Marketing
COMPANY:
Luxury services business headquartered in Wilmington, NC.
REPORTS/RELATIONSHIPS:
This position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and has one direct report (Marketing Coordinator).
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The Director of Marketing will lead all strategic marketing efforts, developing and executing high-impact campaigns that drive brand awareness, client engagement, revenue growth, and attract and retain top talent and clients across the North Carolina coastal market. This is a hands-on, full-time, onsite role requiring close collaboration with the CEO and leadership teams.
Specific duties will include, but not necessarily be limited to:
Strategic Marketing Leadership
- Develop and implement a unified marketing strategy that drives brand growth, client acquisition, and profitability.
- Translate executive vision into actionable, data-informed marketing plans with clear goals and measurable results.
- Manage the overall marketing budget with a disciplined focus on ROI and performance metrics.
Brand Alignment and Global Integration
- Leverage and localize global brand assets, platforms, and campaigns to amplify reach and relevance in local markets.
- Ensure all marketing initiatives reflect brand standards and uphold a refined, luxury aesthetic.
- Coordinate with corporate brand and PR teams to maintain consistency across all touchpoints.
Market Intelligence and Communication
- Track and analyze trends across luxury services to inform strategy and content.
- Produce compelling insights, reports, and marketing collateral.
- Position the organization as a thought leader through educational and data-driven content.
Marketing Support
- Equip the sales team with premium marketing materials and strategies to help secure clients and grow their businesses.
- Lead recruitment marketing to attract and retain top-producing talent.
- Design campaigns that promote visibility and reinforce brand expertise.
Growth Initiatives
- Create and manage marketing programs to attract high-end clients
- Develop campaigns that highlight service quality to retain and grow the client base.
- Increase sales and revenue through targeted guest outreach and promotional strategies.
Creative Direction and Asset Management
- Oversee the production of advertising, video, digital content, and print materials.
- Ensure all creative output meets brand standards and engages target audiences effectively.
- Manage remote designers and third-party vendors to deliver high-quality deliverables on time.
Digital and Performance Marketing
- Lead strategy for SEO, SEM, social media, website optimization, and email marketing.
- Manage and optimize existing social media accounts while introducing new platforms and creative content to increase visibility and engagement.
- Apply AI-driven tools and analytics to improve targeting, personalization, and campaign effectiveness.
- Regularly evaluate performance data to refine strategy and optimize results.
Team Collaboration and Culture
- Lead the marketing team and external partners in a culture of creativity, accountability, and excellence.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure alignment across all initiatives.
- Support internal communications and contribute to a cohesive brand experience across the organization.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7-10 years of progressive marketing experience, with three-plus years at a director or senior level, preferably in luxury consumer services.
- Demonstrated ability to drive growth, enhance brand value, and deliver measurable ROI across diverse marketing channels.
- Strong grasp of luxury market dynamics, including emerging trends and competitive positioning.
- Expertise in digital marketing, analytics platforms, AI tools, SEO/SEM, and marketing automation.
- Exceptional aesthetic and brand sensibility in line with corporate’s standards.
- Outstanding written, visual, and verbal communication skills; ability to influence, present, and collaborate across audiences.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Wilmington, NC area.
- Occasional travel (about 5%) for regional, national, or international events may be required.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business required; master’s degree preferred.
COMPENSATION:
Compensation will be commensurate with experience including a competitive base salary and bonus opportunity.
